23,000 applicants every month, only 200 get jobs
According to the latest figures provided by the department of employment, almost 10 lakh unemployed youth, including 2.5 lakh women, are registered with them looking for jobs.
However, the rate of employment is abysmal. Out of an average of more than 23,000 applications received every month, only an odd 200 persons are placed against various available vacancies.
In most of the cases it is the men who are able to land the jobs with the department hardly ever finding suitable vacancies against which women could be employed.
Interestingly, most of the job opportunities, against which the vacancies are filled, come from Gurgaon and Faridabad with very few jobs available in the rest of the districts in the state.
The highest number of unemployed persons are registered in Faridabad where over 62,000 men and 11,000 women have submitted applications for suitable jobs with the employment department.
More than 50,000 men and 18,000 women from Bhiwani have offered themselves for jobs, followed by Karnal where over 65,000 people are looking for jobs.
Jind, Yamunanagr, Hisar and Jhajjar are the next worst in terms of employment opportunities. In Panchkula, however, only 7,000 men and 5,000 women have registered themselves with the department.
The highest number of unemployed women are in Ambala where over 18,000 are looking for opportunities in the government or private sector followed by Hisar, Rohtak and Bhiwani.
