2 cops dismissed for robbing Mumbai man
Addressing a press conference, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) H S Dhillon said: “On October 14, Rajesh Tabrasia a salesman for Ridhi Sidhi Jewellers from Mumbai came to Ludhiana on a business trip and had 72 diamond articles worth Rs 25 lakh with him.”
“On October 15, he was approached by ASI Amar Singh and HC Rajinder Singh who said they were from CIA Ludhiana Police and took him to a Balero Camper parked near by and put him in the vehicle with the other three accomplices (Angrez Singh, Manpreet Singh and Malkeet Singh). They started driving towards Delhi. As they crossed Duraha near Ludhiana they turned onto a village road, took the bag from Rajesh and dumped him. Police have recovered 57 of the 72 diamond articles,’’ said Dhillon.
ADGP (Intelligence) said the Ludhiana Police Commissioner investigated the case himself. “Amar Singh and Rajinder Singh were from 82 and 13 battalions of the PAP and posted as an orderly and telephone operator in a senior police officer’s house in Chandigarh. Both were dismissed from service today under Section 311. Rajinder was earlier also dismissed from police service due to his bad record but later taken back on duty,” Dhillon added.
