Mumbai, March 24: : Connecting with friends, sharing of thoughts and ideas, sending fun messages to friends, finding common areas of interest etc are some of the reasons why people join a Networking Site; The Indian youth seems to be connecting based on deeper interests than Paris Hilton's wardrobe and want to get engaged within a cause.

In light of the current outbreak in Tibet, there seems to be a growing community (over 130 people forming an adda, taking a non-violent route as their stand for the cause over the last couple of days) in support of a Free Tibet. Over 50 videos related to the issue, (which have got over 3000 views) have been uploaded by users on Bigadda.com and shared with over 1 lakh users driving others to share their thoughts and spread awareness about the cause, as a support for the issue at hand.

A visit to the Tibet Adda (http://www.bigadda.com/index.php?L=communities.view&grpID=15728) shows that the youth today are against war and are making requests that sport should be kept out of political issues.

Although a personal contribution and /or participation may be impossible for many people, but it doesn’t stop them from showing their support. It’s a coming together of like-minded people who wish to show their concern for the people of Tibet. Users have created an adda “All for Free Tibet” where the Indian youth are sharing their thoughts, uploading videos and photos to show their support for a free Tibet.

Users have connected with each other on different levels; mostly friends form a network but new connections are built on the basis of interests. Bigadda has many users who are a part of an adda on interest levels. Arts, Music, Movies, Fashion, Social Causes etc are some of the popular addas.

Apart from sending scribbles to friends, Networking Sites are a platform for expression for this young community where they are speaking up for the causes they believe in. A cause that has no effect on the youth in anyway, has become the reason for the coming together of such a large number of concerned Indian youths.
