‘Our tie-ups will benefit both Indian & Australian students’
During the Victorian Super Trade mission in February 2012, La Trobe University signed MoUs with Mahindra Reva, HCL, BITS Pilani and Delhi Technological University. What’s new this time?
The February delegation was headed by Professor John Dewar, vice-chancellor and president, La Trobe University, and the mission was led by the Victorian Premier, Ted Baillieu. La Trobe has been quite active in establishing partnerships with leading Indian institutes so that students can make the most of it. This time, I am confident that our new agreements with JSS University, Pune, and Cummins College, Pune, which we have signed during this visit, will benefit both Indian and Australian students in various ways.
What will these agreements focus on?
While we have signed a student exchange agreement with JSS University, Mysore; with Cummins College we are developing an articulation arrangement for various under-graduate and post-graduate courses where Cummins College students will get credits while studying at their college and which can use to successfully enrol in our programmes.
