‘Maturity to follow rules must come from within’

Anil Kumar, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, said, “Road safety is an issue which concerns us all. Traffic violations make or break the image of a town. The maturity to follow rules will have to come from within”.

He added, “We will achieve success when children will start pointing out to the parents to follow traffic rules. All the trauma centers are always filled with accident cases. It will cut down the load on the doctors as well”.

Also, the Superintendent of Police (SP) traffic, Maneesh Chaudhary said, “We are working hard for a safe environment with a three-point strategy. The f point was to challan, the second is our accident analysis cell and the third is awareness campaigns of which the Traffic Week is a part”.

He added that the new road safety awareness van had gone to schools and colleges educating youngsters about the same.

The Traffic Week was observed in the city from January 15 to January 21. During this week, Chandigarh Traffic Police organized workshops on road safety to make road users aware at different places.
