



: Anu Aga was a housewife, when asked by the board of Thermax to take charge on her husband’s sudden death. She did so, weathered the subsequent death of her son and oversaw a successful revamp of the firm. And has now decided to step down, handing charge to her daughter. She spoke to Shekhar Gupta, Editor-in-Chief of The Indian Express, on NDTV 24x7’s Walk-The-Talk. Excerpts:
Let me stick my neck out and say one thing, if there is one person in corporate India for whom the name of this show is a perfect fit, it is my guest today, because not only does she walk her talk, she also stands up and walks the farthest when so many others, including the big boys of the corporate sector, prefer to sit and duck and hide. Anu Aga, it’s a privilege to have you on our show. And how nice to do this in your city, Pune, in Koregaon Park, on such a beautiful morning.

Right. In some ways, you’ve sort of stuck out for old-time honour. In fact, when I read your speeches, in the first para I almost always see the expression ‘corporate conscience’ or‘corporate social responsibility.’ Do you think more people were saying that, so you were not singled out?
