Income Tax return online filing: Send your acknowledgement to this Bangalore address

The process of filing online tax returns is not complete unless it is verified by the I-T Department. For this you must download the acknowledgment received after filing the return and send it to the Bangalore office.

The process of filing online income tax returns is not complete unless it is verified by the Income Tax Department. For this you must download the acknowledgment received after filing the return and send it to the Bangalore office. If you’ve downloaded the acknowledgement from the Income Tax Department’s website, you’ll need a password to open it. The password for opening the acknowledgement, known as the ITR V form, is your PAN number in lower letters, followed by your date of birth.

Example:
PAN: AAAPA1111F
Date of birth: 01/01/1975
Password: aaapa1111f01011975

After receiving your ITR-V (acknowledgement), you have to send it to the CPC, Bangalore within 120 days of .e-filing your Income Tax return

Address for sending acknowledgement
A unique PINCODE 560500 has been allotted to Centralized Processing Centre (CPC), Income Tax Department located in Bengaluru by the Department of Post. Taxpayers can henceforth address their mails to ‘Centralized Processing Center, Income Tax Department, Bengaluru 560500’ for the purpose of submission of acknowledgement (ITR-V forms) and other documents which require physical mode of transmission.

You must send the acknowledgement to Bangalore office by ordinary post or speed post.

Who needs to send the acknowledgement to Bangalore office?

Those who have done the e-verification of income tax return through any of the modes such as net banking, Aadhaar OTP, Bank account , Demat account number, Bank ATM or registered mobile number and email are not required to send the acknowledgement to the Bangalore office.

Thus, only those taxpayers who have not done the verification of income tax return online through any of the modes provided by the Income Tax Department have to send their acknowledgement to the Bangalore office for verification.

How to check the whether acknowledgement has received the Bangalore office or not?
