Rohit Gadia, founder and chief executive officer, CapitalVia Global Research said,, “Nifty in its daily chart has formed a spinning top candlestick pattern on Wednesday. A spinning top generally visible when market sentiment is not sure about the direction and investor is not ready to carry any big risk as the buyer and seller is in equilibrium. However it also indicates a possible big move, once market able to breakout from the consolidation phase. Whether it is temporary pause after which market will recover or start of a fresh downtrend, required further confirmation to judge.”
The US Fed did signal it could increase rates by year-end as the labour market improved, but cut the number of rate increases expected in 2017 and 2018. It also reduced its longer-run interest rate forecast to 2.9 per cent from 3 per cent.
