The BSE Sensex closed 15.78 points down at 28,507.42, while Nifty settled 1.25 points down at 8,777. In the Nifty 50-index, Bank of Baroda, Power Grid, Ambuja Cement, State Bank of India and ITC slipped between 1.12 per cent and 1.69 per cent. On the other hand, Bharti Infratel, Eicher Motors, Hindalco, Hindustan Unilever and YES Bank gained between 1.06 per cent and 4.66 per cent. Other Asian peers ended mostly in green with Japan’s Nikkei 225 index jumped 1.91 per cent after the Bank of Japan announced an overhaul of its massive monetary stimulus program.
3.08 pm: GTL Infrastructure shares hit upper circuit by surging nearly 20 per cent to Rs 3.43. Sensex was trading 27.44 points down at 28,495. Nifty was almost flat at 8775.60.

1.07 pm: Dairy stocks surged in today’s trade. Prabhat Dairy shares hit upper circuit and surged 20 per cent to Rs 118.20. Kwality Ltd and Parag Milk were trading higher by 10.80 per cent and 6.09 per cent at Rs 137 and Rs 344, respectively.
12.36 pm: ICICI Prudential Life IPO was subscribed by 70 per cent on the last day of offer till 12.00 pm. Sensex was trading 129 points up at 28652. Nifty was up 42.90 points at 8,818.80.

The company is planning to launch Idea Games, Idea Videos, Idea Music and Idea Chat in January-March 2017 period. Shares of the company were trading 0.48 per cent up at Rs 84.25.

10.20 am: According to the data released by the NSE, the Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) remained net seller of Rs 2031.81 crore in index futures and options segments, as per Tuesday’s data, September 20, 2016. FIIs were net sellers of index futures to the tune of Rs 89.07 crore and net sellers of index options worth Rs 1942.74 crore. In the stock segment, FII’s were net sellers of stock futures worth Rs 896.06 crore, while they sold stock options worth Rs 24.31 crore.
9.50 am: Sensex jumped over 100 points after Bank of Japan on Wednesday offered to supply Yen 800 billion funds at a fixed rate. Nifty was trading 23.40 points up at 8799.30.

9.40 am: In the Nifty 50 index, Bharti Infratel, BPCL, Gail, YES Bank and Hindalco were up between 0.95 per cent and 2.12 per cent. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Cipla, Bajaj Auto and ICICI Bank were down between 0.50 per cent and 0.91 per cent.
9.25 am: NBCC (India) shares were trading 2.24 per cent higher in the early trade after it informed bourses that it has secured work amounting Rs 440 crore from ESIC, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India for construction of 100 bedded hospital(s) at Haridwar and Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and 300 bedded hospital at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Sensex was trading 29.82 points up at 28,553.
9.17 am: Essel Propack was trading 7.90 per cent up at Rs 240.30. The company will acquire 100 per cent stake in Essel Deutschland Germany.
9.15 am: The BSE Sensex opened 31.18 points, or 0.11 per cent, up at 28554.38, while Nifty opened 14.40 points, or 0.16 per cent, up at 8790.30.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty are likely to open on a flat note on Wednesday tracking mixed global cues. Benchmark indices snapped a 4-day gaining streak on Tuesday on account of weak global cues. The 30-share index plunged 111 points yesterday, while Nifty breached the psychological level of 8,800.
Shares of IRB Infrastructure Developers will remain in focus on Tuesday after the company said it has bagged a DBFOT road project for six-laning of 125 km long Kishangarh–Udaipur–Ahmedabad section in Rajasthan.
Japan’s Nikkei index wiped off its initial losses and was trading higher by 12.62 points.
