Ahluwalia Contracts (India), ACC, Ansal Properties & Infrastructure, Bedmutha Industries, Central Bank of India, Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals, CEAT, Dilip Buildcon, DLF, Eicher Motors, Essel Propack, Ganesh Housing Corporation, Havells India, Hindustan Unilever, Indiabulls Real Estate, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, Motherson Sumi Systems, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care, Rajesh Exports, Supreme Industries and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers were among 88 stocks that hit their 52-week high on NSE on Monday. Domestic stock markets ended in positive terrain with Sensex closing 67.35 points up at 29,926.15, while Nifty settled the day 28.75 points up at 9,314.05.
ACC was among the stocks that hogged limelight in today’s trade after it said that it along with Ambuja Cements — the two Indian units of the world’s largest cement producer LafargeHolcim — have decided to explore merger between them, ending months of speculation. Share price of the company ended 2.67 per cent up at 1,704.45 on NSE.
On today’s Nifty movement, Sameet Chavan (Chief Analyst- Technical & Derivatives, Angel Broking), said, “Trading for the week began on a cheerful note owing to positive global cues. Subsequently, we witnessed a range bound action within a thin band of merely 40 points throughout the session. Eventually, the index managed to close convincingly above the 9300 mark by adding 0.31% to its previous close. From the Nifty basket, the day clearly belongs to couple of cements giants, the ‘Ambuja’ and ‘ACC’, as we witnessed a soaring move on the back of their merger news.”
Other stocks that touched their 52-week high on NSE were Transwarranty Finance, Zodiac Clothing Company, The Western India Plywood, Vijaya Bank, UltraTech Cement, Kansai Nerolac Paints, Mirza International, Monnet Ispat and Energy, Euro Ceramics, Himadri Speciality Chemical and Bhushan Steel.
However, ATN International, Empee Distilleries, Green Fire Agri Commodities, Lanco Infratech, Lupin, Moser-Baer (I), Religare Enterprises and Shree Ganesh Jewellery House were among 20 stocks touched their 52-week low on NSE today.
