Domestic equity markets ended at new closing peak on Wednesday. Sensex rose 76.17 points to end at new closing peak of 30,658.77, while NSE Nifty gained 13.50 points to end at record 9,525.75.
Hindustan Unilever closed 8.60 points up at Rs 1,009 ahead of its fourth quarter earnings on NSE. The company posted its results after market hours and reported 6.19 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 1,183 crore.
On Wednesday’s Nifty movement, Ruchit Jain (Equity Technical Analyst, Angel Broking) said, “The Nifty index consolidated in a narrow range yesterday and ended the session with minor gains of 0.14 per cent. Although, we saw some stock specific momentum yesterday in some of the index heavyweights which continued to trade with positive bias. The Nifty Metal index was clearly the outperformer as Tata Steel posted gains of over 8 percent post its quarterly results announced yesterday. ”
Sintex Industries, Minda Industries, Shalimar Paints, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Shree Pushkar Chemicals & Fertilisers, SKIL Infrastructure, Vardhman Holdings, Websol Energy System, UFLEX, Siyaram Silk Mills, Sumeet Industries, Talbros Automotive Components, MM Forgings, Mirza International and Pidilite Industries were some of the other stocks that hit their 52-week high on NSE.
However, Bhagyanagar India, FCS Software Solutions, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Hindustan Dorr-Oliver, Inox Wind, Lanco Infratech, Rasoya Proteins, S Chand And Company, Shilpi Cable Technologies and Sita Shree Food Products were among 20 stocks that hit their 52-week low on Wednesday.
