The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty fell for the fifth consecutive session on Tuesday as Asian markets hit a one-month low over continued worries about the state of the global economy and potential US interest rate hikes. Sensex closed below 26,000-mark by falling 378.14 points to 25,743.26 in the last session of Samvat 2071, while NSE Nifty settles 131.85 points down at 7,783.35.

Below are the stocks that made news today

InterGlobe Aviation: InterGlobe Aviation, which runs no-frills carrier IndiGo, made a strong debut on the bourses on Tuesday at an opening price of Rs 856 on BSE. Later, the share price closed 14.83 per cent up at Rs 878.45.

Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL): Shares of the company closed 7.60 per cent down at Rs 733.55 after the firm reported a net loss of Rs 320.50 crore for the July-September quarter.

Gammon Infrastructure Projects: Share price of the company surged as much as 10 per cent in the morning trade on Tuesday after its arm Pravara Renewable Energy Ltd (PREL) has commissioned its 30 MW bagasse based cogeneration power project at Pravaranagar in Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra.  Later, the share price of the company closed 2.56 per cent up at Rs 7.20.

NBCC: National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) on Tuesday informed BSE that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has conveyed its intent to entrust the work for development of JPN Trauma Centre Campus at AIIMS to NBCC.  The share price of the company closed 0.18 per cent down at Rs 895.35.

NHPC: Shares of state-run public sector company rose nearly 6 per cent after the company posted a 72.62 per cent jump in net profit in the September quarter. It was trading 3.09 per cent up at Rs 18.35 at 12.50 pm. Later, the share price of he company closed 2.81 per cent up at Rs 18.30.

Bank of India: Shares of bank plunged nearly 5 per cent after the company reported a massive net loss of Rs 1,126 crore for the quarter ended September 30. Later, the company’s shares closed 1.01 per cent down at Rs 132.10.
