7 stocks that remained in focus today: Punj Lloyd, Dr Reddy’s, Tata Motors and more

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty rose over 1 per cent on Thursday tracking higher Asian markets on bets that US Federal Reserve would raise rates in December but proceed cautiously on more tightening. Sensex surged 359.40 points to close at 25,841.92 and NSE Nifty climbed 110.95 points to end above 7,800-mark at 7,842.75.

Punj Lloyd: Shares  of the company were trading 5.20 per cent up at Rs 25.30 (3.20 pm) after the engineering major bagged two rural electrification contracts worth Rs 483 crore from NTPC for Puri and Koraput districts of Odisha. Later, the share price of the company closed 5.20 per cent up at Rs 25.30

Dr Reddy: Shares of the company fell around 7 per cent intraday following reports that a US law firm has filed a class-action suit against the drug company. However, shares of the pharma major wiped off some of their losses and closed 2.63 per cent down after the drugmaker said it followed all disclosure norms required by the US and Indian regulators.

Religare Enterprises: Shares of the company were trading 1.86 per cent down at Rs 272.00 in afternoon trade after the company decided to exit mutual fund business with sale of its controlling 51 per cent stake in Religare Invesco AMC to the foreign partner Invesco. Later, the share price of the company closed 1.61 per cent down at Rs 272.70.

Hero MotoCorp: Share price of the company jumped as much as 2 per cent in the early trade after the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer reported over 10 lakh units in retail sale during the festive season this year. Later, the share price of the company closed 0.76 per cent at Rs 2591.35.

Eros International Media: Share price climbed around 5 per cent on Thursday on reports that the company may go for a share buyback. Stocks of the company settled 4.98 per cent up at Rs 224.55 apiece.

Coal IndiaShare price of Coal India ended 0.36 per cent down at Rs 333.75 after government on Wednesday approved 10 per cent stake sale in the company.
