The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty extended gains on Thursday with a gain of over a per cent with the benchmar indices recapturing their crucial 23,600 (Sensex) and 7,150 (Nifty) levels. Sensex closed 83.30 points, or 1.17 per cent, up at 7191.75. Nifty settled 83.30 points up at 7,191.75.

Quick Heal Technologies: Shares of software security solutions provider Quick Heal Technologies made a weak stock market debut on Thursday. Quick Heal share price closed 20.73 per cent down at Rs 254 against the issue price of Rs 321.

Motherson Sumi: Shares of the company rose over 3 per cent intraday on Thursday after a business daily report that it is in talks to buy a company owned by billionaire investor Wilbur Ross, citing unidentified sources. The scrip closed 0.20 per cent up at 223.65.

Glenmark Pharma: Stocks of the pharma company gained over 1 per cent on Thursday after it announced receipt of tentative approval from USFDA for its generic version of azelaic acid topical gel used for treating skin inflammation. The scrip closed 1.17 per cent up at Rs 729.10.

Oil marketing companies (OMCs): Stocks of OMCs were in focus after petrol price was cut by 32 paise per litre but diesel rates were hiked by 28 paise a litre on global trends.

Railway stocks: Railway sector-linked stocks remained in focus on Thursday after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved construction of six railway lines and a railway bridge. Shares in BEML, Kalindee Rail, Alstom , Siemens, Sanghvi Movers, Titagarh Wagons, Texmaco Rail & Engineering rise as much as 4 per cent.
