The BSE Sensex jumped 81.07 points to settle at a new high of 31,109.28, while NSE Nifty ended above 9,600 for the first time.
Reliance Communication remained in the limelight throughout the day on Monday after it posted a loss of Rs 948 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2017 amid reports that the company had delayed repayment of loans to more than 10 banks. Stocks of the company ended 19.22 per cent down at Rs 20.80 on NSE.
OnMobile Global, Orbit Corporation, Shree Ganesh Jewellery House, Spacenet Enterprises India, SRS, Sun Pharmaceutical, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, TV Vision, Videocon Industries, Tech Mahindra, Visagar Polytex, Zicom Electronic Security Systems and Satin Creditcare Network also touched 52-week low on NSE on Monday.
Sun Pharma that hit 52-week low on NSE on Monday remained in the news after the pharma major reported a 14 per cent decline in consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter ended March. The share price of the company closed 11.88 per cent down at Rs 500.20.
Tech Mahindra also touched 52-week low on NSE the IT company posted a 31 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 588 crore for the three months to March 2017. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 854.8 crore in the same period a year ago. The share price of the company ended 11.44 per cent down at Rs 380.05.

Savita Oil Technologies, Siyaram Silk Mills, Swelect Energy Systems, Time Technoplast, PDS Multinational Fashions, Rane Holdings, Hindustan Unilever, Birla Corporation, Emmbi Industries, Hindalco Industries, Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning India and PDS Multinational Fashions were some of the other stocks that hit 52-week high on Monday.
