Muthoot Finance: Shares of the company closed 8.72 per cent up at Rs 233.85 after the company reported 60.56 per cent rise in net profit figures at Rs 265.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016. It has posted a net profit of Rs 165.19 crore in the corresponding quarter a year.
SBI: Stocks of the public sector bank ended 1.59 per cent up at Rs 198.65 after it reported a net profit of Rs 1,264 crore in the March quarter of FY16, down 66% from a year earlier, on the back of higher loan loss provisions. Provisions for bad loans more than doubled on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis to Rs 12,139 crore in Q4FY16.
Sun Pharma: Stocks of the pharma company ended 1.57 per cent down at Rs 812.50 after it said that the anti-trust division of the US Department of Justice has issued summons to its company’s US arm to appear before a grand jury.
Coal India: Stocks of the company closed 3.08 per cent up at Rs 292.05 after it reported a marginal rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 4,247.93 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2015-16. It had posted net profit of Rs 4,238.55 crore in the corresponding quarter of financial year 2014-15.
Jubilant FoodWorks: Stocks of the company, which operates Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin Donuts’ outlets in India, closed 7.95 per cent down at Rs 1023.80 after it reported weak earnings for the March quarter. The company’s same store sales growth (SSG), a key performance metrics, stood at 2.9 per cent in Q4 compared to 6.6 per cent in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.
BHEL: Stocks of the company closed 5.81 per cent down at Rs 120.75 after its standalone net profit declined 59.5 per cent to Rs 359.58 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2016, due to lower income from operations. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 888.35 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2014-15.
Punj Lloyd: Stocks of the infrastructure major settled 5.30 per cent down at Rs 20.55 after it posted a net loss of Rs 467.99 crore on standalone basis for the March quarter on sharp decline in income. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 268.53 crore for the January-March quarter of 2014-15 fiscal.
Maruti Suzuki: Shares of the country’s largest carmaker closed 1.65 per cent down at Rs 4073.15 after it announced temporary suspension of production following fire at the factory of its component supplier Subros Ltd.
Berger Paints: Stocks of the company ended 2.35 per cent up at Rs 295.70 after it reported a 59.72 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 92.77 crore for the fourth quarter ended March.
Gujarat NRE Coke: Stocks of the company closed 1.12 per cent down at Rs 2.65 after its standalone net loss widened to Rs 351.58 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016.
