Indian shares on Friday fell more than 1.5 percent on fears that the next US President Donald Trump’s policies will lead to higher US interest rates and denting the appeal of emerging markets. Global investors could find emerging markets less attractive after the higher US interest rates, which may hit currencies like rupee, which was at 67.0400 per dollar against its previous close of 66.6250. It fell as low as 67.2000. Nifty was 1.75 percent lower at 8, 376.35 and was down 0.68 percent for the week, while Sensex was .65 percent lower at 27,062.58, and was down 0.77 percent for the week.
3:35 PM: Sensex falls 698.96 points or 2.54 points finish the day at at 26,818.82. Nifty down by 229.45 points or 2.69 percent to close at 8,296.30

10: 40 AM: Top gainers in Sensex were Sun Pharma, BHEL and SBI, while top losers were Hero Motocorp, HDFC and GAIL. In Nifty, top gainers are Sun Pharma, Bank of Baroda and BHEL, while top losers were INFRATEL, ULTRACEMCO and HCL Tech.
10: 35 AM: The Sensex which opened at 27,344.85 points on Friday dipped 423.79 points or to 27, 090 points in the morning trade. Nifty was also down 139.80 points at 8,386.05.
On Thursday, the Sensex had closed at 27, 518 points.
