5 stocks that are pulling the sensex down today

BSE Sensex, which crossed the 30,000-mark yesterday to a new all-time high, fell on Thursday, paring gains ahead of the F&O expiry and tracking weak Asian sentiments.

The benchmark Sensex fell 0.08 % to 30,109.29 points after opening almost flat. The broader Nifty50 too, which breached 9,350 for the first time yesterday, fell 0.23% to 9,330.50 points.

BSE Sensex, which crossed the 30,000-mark yesterday to a new all-time high, fell on Thursday, paring gains ahead of the F&O expiry and tracking weak Asian sentiments. The benchmark Sensex fell 0.08 % to 30,109.29 points after opening almost flat. The broader Nifty50 too, which breached 9,350 for the first time yesterday, fell 0.23% to 9,330.50 points.

Here is a look at five stocks which are pulling the Sensex down today

ITC

ITC share prices were down 1.08% from its yesterday’s closing price of Rs 290.65 and were trading at Rs 287.50. The scrip had been on an uptrend since the beginning of this week and had gained close to 6% in the week where the BSE FMCG Index rose 3.75%.

Reliance Industries

Reliance Industries share prices were down 0.66% from its yesterday’s closing price of Rs 1,416.35 and were trading at Rs 1,407.05. The stock rose close to 3% at the opening bell on Tuesday on the back of spectacular Q4 results which showed company’s net profits rising 12.3% year-on-year to Rs 8,046 crore, but has been on a downtrend due to profit booking since then.

ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank share prices were down 0.61% from its yesterday’s closing price of Rs 276.95 and were trading at Rs 275.25. The scrip had been on an uptrend since the beginning of this week and had gained close to 3.36% in the week. Banking stocks have been on an uptrend due to talks of a framework to resolve the NPAs issue being reportedly worked on.

Asian Paints

Asian Paints share prices were down 0.91% from its yesterday’s closing price of Rs 1,105.05 and were trading at Rs 1,095.00. The scrip had been on an uptrend since the beginning of this week and had gained close to 3% in the week where the BSE Bankex gained close to 1.86%.

Axis bank

Axis Bank share prices were down 0.86% from its yesterday’s closing price of Rs 517.30 and were trading at Rs 512.85. Axis Bank yesterday came out with its Q4 results, which showed a 43 percent dip in net profits to Rs 1,225.10 crore provisioning for bad loans rose sharply.
