10000 remains elusive on Nifty but here are 5 stocks that kept the hope alive today

The broader benchmark index, Nifty 50 hit a record high of 9,982 on Monday but didn’t make it to the historical five-digit mark of 10,000. Along with Nifty, BSE Sensex and Bank Nifty also soared to lifetime highs at 32,320.86 points and 24,460.55 points.

The broader benchmark index, Nifty 50 hit a record high of 9,982 on Monday but didn’t make it to the historical five-digit mark of 10,000. Along with Nifty, BSE Sensex and Bank Nifty also soared to lifetime highs at 32,320.86 points and 24,460.55 points. The 50-share barometer opened 21 points higher to 9,936.8, the index, the NSE benchmark, however, settled at a new record closing high of 9,966.4 points. Nifty missed making history by a whisker, falling short of the historical 10,000-mark by barely 18 points at the day’s high.

Nifty didn’t breach the most anticipated 10,000, but these 5 stocks which kept the hope alive throughout the day:

HDFC Bank:

Shares of HDFC Bank today rose by 2% to Rs 1,738 after the company reported 20% increase in net profit for the quarter ended June 30. The private sector lender today reported 20.22% increase in net profit to Rs 3,893.84 crore for the first quarter of 2017-18 fiscal.

Reliance Industries:

Shares of Reliance Industries Ltd rose to a new 52-week high of Rs 1,624.9 ended as the lead gainer on the index, gained 2.15% to close at Rs 1,619. Shares of Reliance Industries rose for the second consecutive day after Mukesh Ambani launched the Jio Phone and cable TV at the company’s AGM earlier on 21 July.

ITC:

Shares of the Indian FMCG leader ITC remained the third largest contributor to the index gain, the stock added up 9.77 points to today’s rise in the 50-share index. ITC shares ended up 1.47% at Rs 293.15 after making a day’s high of Rs 295.35.

TCS:

Shares of the largest domestic IT company, Tata Consultancy Services ended 2.04% higher at Rs 2,535 on the fourth deck according to the contribution to the index rally. The stock added up 5.99 points to the Nifty’s upsurge.

Infosys:

Shares of the second largest tech giant, Infosys contributed 5.39 points to the index gains ended 1.06% higher at Rs 990.5.

Other stocks which also contributed to the index gain are Wipro, SBI, Bharti Airtel, Adani Ports, Indiabulls Housing Finance. Most sectoral indices were in green, with the Nifty Small Cap, Nifty Bank, and the NSE Nifty-50 itself, making new all-time highs today. Nifty Small Cap index outperformed the benchmark indices today, while Nifty PSU Bank index too was trading strong in the morning, rising 1.4%.

      GNFC posted a 10 increase which is not mentioned. This is one of the most outstanding fertiliser company in India today.
