An online campaign started last year has gained momentum all of a sudden courtesy the recent attack and the fire it has ignited across India and Pakistan. While alot has been happening in and out of the nation, peace talks seem like a distant call now with India who has long stayed quiet also opting for surgical strikes.
While some are glad that it’s happening, there are some on both side of the borders hoping that the nations resolve everything with peace. And one of them is Mumbai based artist Ram Subramaniam.
Ram has started an online campaign gathering support from like minded people to promote peace talks among the neighbours by putting up Facebook profile pictures that reads :
”Dear Leaders, Do not let the actions of few violent men write the future of many people, like me who want peace!
#Kill Terrorists Not Talks #Profile For Peace ”
The campaign is called ‘Profile for peace’ and many peace lovers have been trying to convey their word to both Governments to resolve their issues. While the surprising fact is that after the recent events, more Pakistanis have opted for it than Indians. This has been a pleasant surprise considering Pakistani people are seen inhibited in voicing opinions on such matters.
The Campaign also saw celebrity vote with Director Mahesh Bhatt who has earlier given work to Pakistani actors in his films putting up the same picture.
