Ace designer Payal Pratap indulged with softer colour palettes as she presented her latest collection on the second day of Amazon India Fashion Week today.
Titled ‘Twist in My Sobriety’, the collection was mainly in light hues of white, red and blue.
Bringing an early summery feel to the runway, Payal’s simple-yet-elegant line consisted of dresses, maxi dresses, jumpsuits and structured jackets.
“I just wanted to do something from my heart and this time I felt like working with monal tones and neutral tones. For me red and blue are neutral. So, I wanted to keep it simple and clutter-free,” Payal told reporters post the show.
Earthy and with understated focus, the collection with many twists in the shape as well as the textures looked easy wearable and contemporary, targetting a well-travelled globally aware customer with a penchant to experiment.
“I used Indian-inspired patterns. I experimented with lot of drapes and dresses. I chose a lot of linen, chaderis, khadis and linen satins,” the designer said.
The ramp made use of bamboo sticks as a decorative piece, and Payal said it was her way of going rustic.
“I’m rustic at heart. I was going back to my roots. For me this is raw, simple and pure.”
