It has been a proved science that stress, tension, and depression are the route-cause of almost all the diseases affecting an individual’s body. We are quite aware that we need to manage our stress to maintain a healthy life. When things get difficult at workplaces or in personal life, people often call their family and friends to share their emotions and lessen the stress. Some of them often listen to music to reduce the anxiety. A research done by some neuroscientists have made a list of 10 songs which reduces stress like anything. According to Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson of Mindlab International, which conducted the research, “weightless” has been named as the most relaxing song ever, which reduces a person’s stress by 65 per cent. The scientist have also made a list of 10 songs which have been found very effective in reducing stress.

The list made by researchers is as follows:

1. “Weightless,” by Marconi Union

2. “Electra,” by Airstream

3. “Mellomaniac (Chill Out Mix),” by DJ Shah

4. “Watermark,” by Enya
5. “Strawberry Swing,” by Coldplay

6. “Please Don’t Go,” by Barcelona

7. “Pure Shores,” by All Saints

8. “Someone Like You,” by Adele

9. “Canzonetta Sull’aria,” by Mozart

10. “We Can Fly,” by Rue du Soleil (Café Del Mar)

As per Hodgson, the top song produced a greater state of relaxation than any other music tested to date. In fact, listening to — “Weightless” — resulted in a significant 65 percent reduction in participants’ overall anxiety, and a 35 percent reduction in their usual physiological resting rates. In today’s time when pressure at workplaces knows no bound, the doctors are clear that a person has to relax often to live a healthy and prosporous life. Music is surely one remedy from all kind of pings and dings.
