Remember Tinkle comics, being a part of your childhood? Yes, the magazine has been around for 36 years now, and for its anniversary it has a couple of interesting things in store for comic book lovers. It is celebrating the event with its 655th issue by launching brand new toon series called, ‘Buchki and the Booligans’. Tinkle comics on their Facebook page wrote, “Tinkle’s 36th Anniversary is on 14th November and this year, we are celebrating with a brand new toon series: Buchki and the Booligans! Pre-order the first November issue, No. 655, now to catch Buchki’s first adventure.” Tinkle is a fortnightly magazine published in India, which mostly runs till today because of its nostalgic value. The brand was first owned by India Book House but in the year 2007, ACK Media acquired it. The magazine is published in many Indian languages apart from English also.
Anant Pai the founder of Tinkle started the comics in the year 1980. He made characters like Suppandi, Shikari Shambhu and Tantri the Mantri immortal. Who can even forget Kalia the crow and Ramu and Shamu? These characters are deeply ingrained in the kids who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s. There are many other adaptations of the Tinkle comics, like The Suppandi series, Suppandi, Suppandi!, Shambu and the Man Eater etc. In the November issue, Indian Test cricket captain Virat Kohli, whose birthday falls on 5th November has shared an incident from his life with Tinkle. Readers will be able to read what he has to say in the ‘It Happened to Me’ section in the magazine, Tinkle wrote in a Facebook post.
