The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is likely to announce the Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) examination 2016 results in the first fortnight of December.
Indian Railways spokesperson Anil Kumar Saxena while talking to Hindustan Times said that the processing of RRB NTPC results are in the final or the checking stage and are most probably to be declared in the first fortnight of December.
The announcement of results has been postponed a number of times. Around 57 lakh candidates have appeared in the examination. A railway source had earlier said that “due diligence is being exercised in the scrutiny of results to avoid mistakes,” reported HT.
The board is also planning to conduct a second stage computer-based test (CBT) for various NTPC (graduate) category after the results get announced. The students who have cleared the first round of examination, held between March and May, will be eligible for the CBT round and the total number of candidates sitting for the second round would be 15 times the total number of vacancies.
The online written exams to fill 18,252 vacancies in various technical and non-technical posts of RRB were organised across the country between March-May. Near about 92 lakh candidates applied for the NTPC exam and about 57 lakh finally took the paper.
The advertisement (CEN 03/2015) regarding the exam was first published in December 2015 with an aim to recruit people for various posts, including assistant station master, clerk, goods guard, typist, apprentice and junior accounts assistant.
