It hasn’t been too long when Pierce Brosnan got trolled on Twitter for endorsing Indian company Pan Bahar’s paan masala. From 2-minute video advertisement to large hoarding across the length and breadth if the country were put up by the brand in order to showcase the British actor’s dapper look alongside their product. However, it turns out that Brosnan is “deeply shocked and saddened” by the company’s “unauthorised and deceptive use” of his image for a product which contains tobacco.
Former James Bond said, “I was distressed to learn of Pan Bahar’s unauthorised and deceptive use of my image to endorse their range of pan masala products. I would never have entered into an agreement to promote a product in India that is dangerous to one’s health.” He added that the company allegedly said that the ad was to endorse a “breath freshner/tooth whitner.”
The actor also said, “Having endured, in my own personal life, the loss of my first wife and daughter as well as numerous friends to cancer, I am fully committed to supporting women’s healthcare and research programs that improve human health and alleviate suffering.” The actor while issuing statement conveyed his “heartfelt apologies” for causing such an offence and blamed Pan Bahar for exploiting his image.
Brosnan has now demanded that the company remove him from their advertisement campaign and claimed that he had no prior knowledge of endorsing something harmful as this.
