After raising Rs 165 crore in Series B funding, UrbanClap, a local services marketplace start-up, is expanding its reach beyond the four metros. The company is planning to expand its footprints to 10 cities by the end of this year and to 25 cities by the end of next year. The company launched its services in Pune as a part of this expansion bid on Thursday.
The latest round of funding was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from existing investors Accel Partners and SAIF Partners. UrbanClap had earlier raised R76 crore in two rounds. UrbanClap connects customers to service professionals across 60 categories which will be expanded to 100 categories. It offers service professionals in the marketplace, which range from plumbers to photographers, dieticians to designers, lawyers to electricians. UrbanClap has started offering its services in Pune in 25 categories and will gradually ramp up its offerings.
Abhiraj Bhal, co-founder, UrbanClab said the company will be having two lakh service professionals on its platform and will become the largest marketplace. It also plans to use the channel for sourcing products.
