Tripda, a ride sharing global platform has entered Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula connecting passengers with drivers (owners of cars) who are travelling medium to long distance acting like a carpooling service.
Co-Founder & CEO, Pedro Meduna told here today that “ Tripda offers sharing your ride, a unique concept that not only helps in saving fuel, checking pollution levels, providing safe journey experience but is also a platform for socialising.” He said that Tripda which was started from Brazil, now operates in 12 countries including the US and some Asian markets. Tripda connects people heading to the same destination on the same date through its unique platform. It offers ladies only car pooling too.
Explaining the concept, Pedro Meduna said that suppose a driver commutes to Delhi by car daily or on specified days, he or she will offer seats to prospective passengers on the facebook page or tripda.in on sharing basis. This way not only the fuel cost will be shared, but pollution levels would come down because the number of cars plying between different destinations would come down as a result of car pooling. He said that for the time being, Tripda is a “free platform”.
Nitish Bhushan, country manager, Tripda added that in Chandigarh lot of people had shown interest in tripda particularly younger population from 18 to 35 age group. He said that initial focus in India will be Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore where the growth has been almost 100 per cent in six months of launch but going by the overwhelming response in Chandigarh, Tripda is hopeful of 300 per cent growth here.
