Floor standing speakers are gradually disappearing from our homes. The reasons for their becoming obsolete are not hard to find. Tower speakers are a bulky lot and they occupy quite a bit of space in our living areas. Moreover, people’s listening habits have undergone a drastic change in recent years too; they like to listen to their favourite music via wired or wireless earphones, or Bluetooth speakers.

However, on occasions such as a birthday party or even an office party tower speakers are needed to deliver a full and big sound. Zebronics India is hard-selling its new tower speakers, Hard Rock 3, precisely for such times. The new lineup is an extension of the company’s popular Hard Rock series of tower speakers. The Hard Rock 3 retails for Rs 27,272. Just connect the two speakers with the cables provided and you are set to go. Basically, it is a three-way speaker that offers accurate sound reproduction. There is a built-in amplifier with audio crossover that is behind this superior sound quality. Appearance-wise too, the speaker will compliment your living room and set up.

Technical-speak, the Hard Rock 3 offers Bluetooth connectivity, USB, SD, MMC slot alternatives. The speakers are magnetically shielded for use with PC monitor, DTH or Blu Ray player and TV without any interference. I established a wireless set-up, first with my mobile phone and then with a Dell laptop and the speakers streamed loud, clear and powerful sound, with crisp highs and deep bass. The speaker has quad 20 cm woofer, dual 16.5 cm mid-range driver and 2 cm Tweeter for highs.

It plays MP3, WMA files from USB drives and SD/MMC enabling 32 GB memory storage. With a circular control pod at the top and packaged dual wireless mics for a karaoke treat, you can connect two more wired mics for a rocking party. The speaker is designed for multi-functional usage along with the fully functional remote control, wherein you also have advantage of controlling the speaker from anywhere in the room.

The fact remains, when it comes to annoying your neighbours, nothing does the trick like a good pair of floor-standing speakers. The Hard Rock 3, which deliver a big and full sound, will do the job for you.
