It looks like Xiaomi is all set to take the Indian smartphone market by storm once again with its upcoming launch. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A, already launched by the company in China, is a phone available in three variants – 16 GB, 2 GB; 32 GB, 3 GB; 64 GB, 4 GB. The price for the starting variant of much-anticipated budget phone has been kept at 699 Yuan (about $106 or Rs. 6,842), Gizmo China reports. While for the top variant, which was not made available immediately, the company has set a price of 1199 Yuan (about $183 or Rs. 11,736). The standard version of Redmi Note 5A comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage and is powered by the Snapdragon 425 processor. However, the higher-end models are equipped with the Snapdragon 435 with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB + 64GB storage.
The rest of the features of all three other models remain almost same as they feature dedicated microSD slots and dual SIM slot. The 3GB and 4GB versions also come with a fingerprint sensor.
The company is expected to release the Redmi Note 5A in other markets like India before the year-end. Given its price in China, and the plans company has for India, it can be assumed that phone will be launched at a similar price point in India.
The latest Xiaomi release sports a 5.5-inch HD screen with a metal-clad cover on the back. The phone which has features identical to Redmi Note 5, a sensation in Indian smartphone market, packs a lesser 3,080mAh battery with Type-C charging port. The phones feature 16MP front-camera with f/2.0 aperture, dedicated LED flash and full HD video recording.
