Xiaomi has been quite aggressive with its recent device launches at an event in Beijing, which include the much anticipated Mi Note 2 and the popular Mi Mix smartphone. Now rumours have come up, that Xiaomi’s next device, will be known as Redmi 4. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 was recently spotted on Chinese website TENAA. The smartphone will be a successor to Xiaomi’s popular smartphone, the Redmi 3. The much popular Redmi 3 had various variants with the name of the Redmi 3s, Redmi Pro and Redmi Prime. According to the leak on TENAA, the smartphone has a 5-inch display which supports full HD (1080p resolution). The phone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, along with an Adreno 405 GPU. Redmi 4 features 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable to 128GB, which is similar to the last device, the Redmi 3s Prime.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is expected to have a 13MP rear camera with a dual LED flash unit and a selfie camera of 5MP. Redmi 4 will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will have the company’s custom MIUI skin on top of it. According to the leak, there will be a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device near the camera. Xiaomi Redmi 4 may come with a big 4000mAh battery. The Chinese certification website also lists another version of the smartphone called Redmi 4A which is expected to come with 2GB RAM powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset. Most of the features are similar, expect it will have a smaller 3000mAH battery.
When it comes to pricing, the device is speculated to cost around CNY 1,200 which will be around Rs. 11,000 in India, while the Redmi 4A ar CNY 599. The last smartphone by Xiaomi, the Redmi 3, launched in January this year, was priced much lower than that range. There has been no confirmation of statement by the company as of now, and the speculated date of release is November.
