Lending its support to PM Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Xiaomi India on Sunday announced a special Redmi Note 4 Lake blue edition. The Chinese smartphone giant announced the new device to give boost to its Bengaluru lake restoration initiative – ‘Wake the lake’ – under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Indianexpress.com reported. In a press note, Xiaomi said that the company will contribute a part of proceeding from the sale of Redmi Note 4 units to support initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The new phone is available in 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage version. The device will be available at a price of Rs 12,999 per unit. Earlier, the phone was available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Matte Black colours. In India, the price of Redmi Note 4 starts at Rs 9,999 for the 2GB RAM, 32GB storage variant; going up to Rs 10,999, for the 3GB RAM, 32GB storage variant; and Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant.
The phone sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 2.5D curved glass IPS display with a 401ppi pixel density and runs on a MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC processor. The device packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with CMOS equipped PDAF (phase detection autofocus).
On connectivity part, Redmi Note 4 comes with 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, Micro-USB, and Infrared. Phone’s on board sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, electronic compass, and proximity sensor. The device comes with a heavy 4100mAh battery. The smartphone measures 151x76x8.35mm and weighs 175 grams.
