Tata Docomo has a new offer for its users, as it has launched pre-pay packs worth Rs 500. Notably, you can use your old Rs 500 notes to buy the packs until December 15 this year. Tata Docomo said that the pre-packs will give maximum voice and data benefits to its subscribers. If you pay your old Rs 500 note, you will get a total talk time of Rs 600. The recharge amount is RC 494, and consumers will get unlimited local and STD calling facility for 30 days inside the home circle. In the RC 496, the Docomo users will get a Rs 250 talk time and 5GB of 3G/2G data with a 60-day validity. If you need only a data pack, the RC 495 recharge will give you 10GB of 3G/2G data for a period of 90 days.

A Docomo spokesperson in a press release said, “We have launched these special packs around Rs 500 to add to the convenience of our subscribers during the demonetization phase. These products have been designed to cater to our large subscriber base with varying needs and offer maximum voice and data benefits. Also, our subscribers can avail these using the old 500 currency notes. As a customer-centric brand, we will continue to delight our subscribers with innovative products and services.”

This move by Tata Docomo comes after PM Narendra Modi-led government announced the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes on November 8. The offer by Tata Docomo also gives the user 1GB of data for Rs 50. This is a similar amount to what Reliance Jio promised when it was announced in September, after which other network providers like Vodafone, Airtel and Idea have come up with equivalent deals. The Reliance Jio deal, as of now stands as unlimited 4G till the end of the year, but according to certain reports, the company may extend the ‘Welcome offer’ will March next year.
