Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus will launch the latest flagship device in Indian on December 2. OnePlus informed about the date on Facebook using a truth or dare video which features Vikas Agarwal, the company’s General Manager in India. The latest device was announced in November and has gone on sale in the US and European markets from November 22. The company’s earlier device, OnePlus 3 is already one of the best value-for-money smartphones of 2016, because it offers great flagship performance at a much lesser price than other devices made by rival smartphone manufacturers. But interestingly, OnePlus has announced an upgraded version of the smartphone just 5 months after its release.
OnePlus earlier announced a ‘Truth or Dare’ poll on its official Facebook page in order to reveal the launch date of the new smartphone. After the polls, which asked how would OnePlus fans like the company to announce the launch date, Vikas Agarwal went on to do an adventure sport, which is really an innovative marketing technique. Agarwal did bungee jumping from the highest point in India at Rishikesh. OnePlus meanwhile has updated a lot of features in its latest device from the earlier flagship smartphone. According to the pricing in the USA the OnePlus 3T begins with $439, which in Indian currency will come around Rs 29,000.
The OnePlus 3T has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Quad-core Kyro processor, Adreno 530 CPU with the 6GB RAM. Meanwhile, Selfie-lovers will get a whopping 16-megapixel camera at the phone’s front as well as a ‘smile capture’ which automatically clicks a picture when you, well, smile. Meanwhile, the rear camera is a decent 16MP with 4K video support, and the company has added ‘Intelligent Pixel Technology’ which essentially reduces low light noise. It has also added a sapphire lens and improved EIS (electronic image stabilisation). OnePlus has improved the battery capacity of the device by 13%. While the OnePlus 3 had a 3000mAh capacity, the 3T variant has a 3400mAh capacity, which gets it closer to other rival smartphones like the Google Pixel. The OnePlus 3T has a 5.5-inch, AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 PPI pixel density) and a Corning Gorilla Glass. Both the devices have the 64 GB version, the only addition being a 128GB variant.
