Nokia lovers rejoice! Nokia in a bid to make a comeback with smartphones is expected to launch an Android device at the Mobile World Congress in 2017. Nokia has reportedly been trying to revive its smartphones in a market it once dominated but was overcome by the likes of Apple and Samsung. According to reports on Weibo, the latest Nokia Android smartphone will feature a 5.2 inch or 5.5-inch display with 2K support. Based on the leaks and rumours on tipsters like Weibo, the latest device from Nokia will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. Interestingly, most flagship devices by rival companies use Snapdragon 821 SoC and by 2017 they will have to move to higher and better processors, which will ake the Nokia device a bit outdated.
The phone is expected to have a metal unibody design and come with waterproof capability. Nokia loves the Carl Zeiss lens, as it is expected to use it in the Android device like it did in the better Lumia smartphones. There is no doubt, that the premium Nokia Lumia devices have the best cameras even in a market dominated by its rivals, which still provides it with the edge. Nokia’s last flagship device was the Lumia 1020 which had a 41 MP camera, but the market has changed a lot ever since. Google and Apple have brought premium devices which have exceptional cameras which perform great in every condition. It will be interesting to see how Nokia has gone about the camera.
Interestingly, this is not the only rumour. Another device called the Nokia Pixel has been spotted on Geekbench, which is expected to come with Android 7.0.1 Nougat and a Qualcomm 200 processor clocked at 1.19 GHz and 1GB RAM. Moreover, another device called the Nokia D1C has been leaked on a few websites. According to Antutu, the smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm 430 chipset and an Adreno 505 GPU. The device is expected to come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory and run on Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone is expected to have a 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. The device could have 1920 x 1080 pixel screen resolution.
