SpaceX and Tesla founder CEO Elon Musk has launched another company called Neuralink and it can link your brain with computers. According to a report in The Wall Steet Journal, sources have said that the firm is at an early stage and it will focus on making devices which can be plugged into humans in order to merge them with machines. The report said that Neuralink will use Musk’s ‘neural lace’ technology which will implant electrodes into your brain and reach your thoughts. These new machines will help in the advancement of Artificial Intelligence as well as create new avenues in the ways with which we interact with machines.

Musk, in the recent past, has had given us many hints regarding the launch of Neuralink. If his tweets and speeches are any proof, the devices to merge biological and digital intelligence are not too far away. His neural lace technology will also help humans to improve themselves too, in terms of memory and other areas. Such a technology where one has to put electrodes inside human brains are used in the world today too, but that is mostly for medical purposes. These methods are extremely dangerous, as it is very difficult to operate on the human brain with machines, and hence these are used only in extreme cases where current methods get exhausted.

So, has such a technology come straight out of sci-fi books? With electric cars fast becoming a sensation around the globe because of affordability, the idea of humans on Mars, and solar energy lessening the dependency on fossil fuels, Musk’s companies surely seems to be leading the way. According to the WSJ report, Neuralink has hired many leading academicians in the company. But are you ready to put micro-implants in your brain to make it a computer assisted powerhouse, yet?

SpaceX, another Musk’s company, plans to launch two paying passengers on a tourist trip to the moon next year using a spaceship under development for NASA astronauts and a heavy-lift rocket.

Meanwhile, in India, Hyperloop Technologies, is planning on building a super-fast transportation solution based on an idea by Musk, is in initial talks with the Indian government and other companies to partially build and operate the vehicle on some routes, after checking the viability.
