Planning to buy a new smartphone? Get ready to face a barrage of new phone launches at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017) to be held in Barcelona from February 27 to March 2. MWC is an annual event where smartphone makers and other electronic giants come at a place to unveil the latest gadgets and smartphones and give consumers a look into the future of technology. This year, most of the big brands like Huawei, LG and Sony will be launching their latest creations. But the most anticipated in the comeback of Nokia phones. Nokia has already launched the Nokia 6 smartphone in China, the first phone after the brand was acquired by HMD Global. But the company will aggressively make a foray into the global market again. Samsung generally launches its flagship device at the MWC every year, but this year it will not be, as it is taking some time to move ahead of the Galaxy Note 7 debacle. Meanwhile, other companies will show off their innovations in a variety of sectors, including AI, robotics and VR.
MWC takes place every year in Barcelona, Spain, at two venues: Fira Gran Via and Fira Montjuic. Mobile World Congress occurs at the end of February each year. The main events this year will begin on February 27 (Monday) and will continue till March 2 (Thursday). Over 2,200 manufacturers will be present at the MWC 2017, including tech majors like Google, Microsoft, Huawei, Lenovo, Nokia, Sony, LG, Intel, Samsung and more. The event will witness many keynote speakers, including bosses of Niantic and Netflix. The smartphone manufacturers have sent out media invites for events ahead of the MWC 2017, and it is expected that the companies will launch their smartphones at these events.
