From the flagship phones of the X series, Motorala has moved onto very different phones in the Z series. The Motorola X series on smartphones, had won positive reviews for many years, owing to its customizable design and clean software build. Now we have two new smartphones from Motorola, the Z and Z Force. These are very different from the earlier phones, hence the change in naming scheme. The design of the new phones is not customizable anymore. Also, the pricing of the new phones is not affordable anymore. The Z is priced at $624 and $720 is what users will have to pay for the Z Force. The phones lack a headphone jack and has a modular design. Users can snap in optional ‘Moto Mods’ accessories, which include a battery pack (Incipio Offgrid), a speaker and a projector (InstaShare). They are exclusive to Verizon.
Although the excusivity and lack of headphone jack is a problem, yet the Moto Mods make these one of the best modular phones. The Z smartphone charges fast, and is very thin. Z Force on the other hand though big, has a longer battery life. Packing a 21 megapixel camera the Z Force has a shatter-proof screen. The Moto Z is very slim and modular and has excellent processing, which makes it a very refined phone by Motorola, something which the best of Moto smartphones were not, earlier. One can say that the phone is not great for everyone because of the lack of a headphone jack and its Verizon excusivity.
Having display panels of 5.5 inch AMOLED screen and QHD resolution, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processors with 4 GB RAM, both Z and Z Force are almost the same. the difference is in the cameras, batteries and screens. The Z contains a 2600 mAh battery and the Z Force consists of 3500 mAh battery. Both the devices have a Gorilla Glass 4, but Z Force has an additional layer of Shatter Shield technology. The Moto Z sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, whereas the Moto Z Force has a 21-megapixel rear shooter. Both have features of f/1.8 aperture, dual LED flash, 5 MP front camera, and laser autofocus.
