Moto G5S Plus is the latest smartphone to be launched by Lenovo in India. This Moto mobile is expected to take on the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo’s own K8 Note. While the company has launched the Moto G5S too, the G5S Plus is more lucrative since it is the first Moto phone in India to get the popular dual camera setup. If we look at the specifications of the Moto G5S Plus, and the reported first impressions, it looks like a solid smartphone in the mid segment. But this also means that it is direct competition from the Redmi Note 4, which is already a hugely popular device in the country. Here is a quick comparison of Moto G5S Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, based on specs, features and price in India.

Moto G5S Plus vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Camera: Moto G5S Plus is one of the latest entrants in India to support dual cameras, a feature which is getting increasingly popular these days. Both the cameras at the back have 13 megapixels. While one of them is colour, the other lens is monochrome. It has a selective focus mode. These features will help you click pictures in portrait mode as well as enhance the blur in backgrounds. It even has a dual LED flash. Meanwhile, in the Redmi phone, you get a 13 MP camera at the back along with f/2.0 aperture. It has phase detection autofocus too. Interestingly, even this phone has a dual LED flash. When it comes to selfie camera, you get 8 MP on Moto G5S Plus and 5MP on Redmi Note 4.

Moto G5S Plus vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Design and build: Both phones have a metal body with fingerprint scanners. The only difference is that the scanner is placed at the back of the Redmi device, the Moto phone gets it in the front (which is more comfortable).

Moto G5S Plus vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Display: Both the smartphones have featured a 5.5-inch display screen along with full HD 1080p IPS LCD panel. The Moto G5S Plus features the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and splash-resistance coating as well. Meanwhile, the Redmi device does have scratch-resistant protective coating feature. However, it does not have Gorilla Glass. Interestingly, the devices have a reading mode which makes it easier for users, especially at night.

Moto G5S Plus vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Processor and RAM: These smartphones have similar processors running. The 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU finds a place in both the devices. While the Moto phone has 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, the Redmi Note 4 has 3 options to choose from 1. 2GB RAM and 32GB memory, 2. 3GB RAM and 32GB memory, and 3. 4GB RAM and 64GB memory. You can expand the memory in both Redmi and Moto.

Moto G5S Plus vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Battery: MotoG5S Plus features a 3000mAh battery, but Redmi Note 4 gives you a huge 4100mAh battery. But you will also have to consider the fact that the Redmi device has 5V/2A charging only, but Lenovo is giving you Motorola’s popular Turbo Charging, as well as a fast charger along with the phone.

Moto G5S Plus vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Price: Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 price begins at Rs 9,999 and the highest version is Rs 12,999. Meanwhile, the Moto G5S Plus is available at a price of Rs 15,999.
