With an aim to increase user participation, Facebook just revealed a lot of new integrations, in which Microsoft’s Bookings service is a major one. This integration though was announced by Microsoft, which is basically an integration of its own: appointment bookings service, which was launched by the company quite recently as a part of the Office 365 suite. This latest feature makes it easier for business owners to accept customer appointments by making it available on their Facebook Page, through an all new ‘Book Now’ button. When the button is clicked the information and details automatically gets filled in.

Microsoft Bookings is essentially a service available in Office 365 Business Premium, which makes it easy for users to schedule appointments with businesses in your own Facebook Bookings Page. Microsoft explained the service in its blog like this, “Bookings provides your business with a unique web page that your customers can use to schedule appointments, even when you’re not around to pick up the phone or respond to an email. The web page is simple to use: the customer first selects the service they want and, based on the availability you provide, chooses a day and time when you or one of your staff is available, enters their contact information and books the appointment.”

However, company policies regarding their bookings like notifications and cancellations among others will also still work when appointments come in from Facebook the only difference being customers can only book up to two months in advance on Facebook. Companies will need to visit the Office 365 Business Premium website in order to subscribe to the feature. As of now, the ‘Bookings’ is available in the U.S. and Canada, but Microsoft promises to roll it out to global customers beginning from November 2016.
