Increasingly people these days prefer to carry around a second phone to separate business from entertainment and that increasingly is a choice being offered by Lenovo A6000 Plus, which is priced at Rs 7,499. A device which is sturdy and reliable, fast enough to run the latest mobile games and reasonably responsive for updating our social networking profiles, or even checking e-mails. If the secondary phone is inexpensive, even more better.
Lenovo A6000 Plus smartphone can be a good choice if you are looking for such a device. It has a big, bright 12.7 cm
(5-inch) wide-view display, smooth, reliable and responsive processor and offers lightning fast data connectivity speeds.
Not only that, it is dual-SIM enabled with a replaceable battery and is pretty adept at multitasking. This means that you can listen to music while browsing the web, or tear down the highway with the latest game, all without a hitch. What’s more, it is priced at an affordable Rs 7,499.
Lenovo is better known for its notebooks and laptops than for its smartphones. In order to emerge as a serious player in the lucrative India mobile phone market, the Chinese electronics maker has, in the past few months, introduced a large number of mobile phones. Like other Lenovo devices, the A6000 Plus seems like a promising candidate, but how does its most important aspects—image quality, battery life, and processing aptitude—stand up in real-world tests, let us find out.
Out of the box, the A6000 Plus is outfitted with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display. A phone of this size could easily weigh you down, yet the A6000 Plus was designed to be light and slim. It measures 140 x 70 x 8.2 mm in body dimensions and weighs just 129g. Rich in colour and sharp in resolution, the device’s HD screen is made for multimedia. It ensures that your video, games and images all appear clearer and more vivid. Plus, with in-plane switching (IPS) offering nearly 180 degree of wide-angle viewing, the A6000 Plus’s big, bright display is perfect for sharing photos or video with friends and colleagues.
On the camera front, the A6000 Plus packs in a 8-megapixel auto-focus with LED Flash rear camera. The front-facing camera is a 2-megapixel fixed-focus one. In my test-run, it was evident that the A6000 Plus’s rear auto-focus camera with LED flash captured sharp, clear photos and video. And, the front camera made video chatting easy and fun.
The A6000 Plus’s innards are also, more or else, up to date, starting with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 64-bit 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor that zips along in some of the other offerings from leading handset makers as well. It has 16 GB memory (expandable upto 32 GB microSD) for internal storage, which is decent enough for a budget smartphone. In terms of RAM, you’re looking at 2 GB memory. Android 4.4 takes system performance to a decent level by optimising memory and improving your touchscreen so that it responds faster. This means that you can listen to music while browsing the web, or even click on some of the apps.
On the apps front, there is the Guvera music app with which you can go online and enjoy unlimited access to over a million songs. You can discover, share, and play the tracks you love wherever you are— for free. You can also do more with your A6000 Plus through preloaded apps like SHAREit, which lets you share files wirelessly without network charges or a Wi-Fi connection; Security, which speeds up your phone and protects it from viruses; and SYNCit, which lets you back up and restore contacts, SMSs, and call logs.
The A6000 Plus supports high-speed LTE (4G) networks for the fastest data connectivity. So all your online games, video, and music can be enjoyed to the full. Two phone numbers in one smartphone can help keep business and pleasure separate. The A6000 Plus’s dual-SIM feature also enables you to choose different data plans to save money. Whether it’s music, movies, or games, the A6000 Plus delivers a really good audio experience through its twin speakers or the headphones. In addition, with Dolby Digital Plus and enhanced volume levels, everything sounds richer, deeper, and more realistic—even in loud and busy environments.
In my week-long evaluation, the A6000 Plus handled everything very well. It is fast, reliable and responsive with no lag whatsoever. And it won’t disappoint one bit. Overall, a great deal for the money.
