Reliance Jio Phone pre-booking will start tomorrow and will go on sale from September. However, some of you may not be able to get your hands on the Reliance 4G mobile, at least at the beginning. Mukesh Ambani, at the launch of the Jio Phone, had said that lakhs of units of the 4G feature phone will go on sale each week. But according to latest reports, initially, the supply will be limited. According to a JioPhone retailer brochure received by IndianExpress.com, even retailers may find it difficult to receive the device. According to the brochure, each retailer can only purchase upto 40 pre-booking vouchers. With such a limited capacity, they may not even last the whole day tomorrow (August 24).
According to the brochure posted by IE.com, it lists the process to be followed by retailers to buy the pre-booking vouchers. The list clearly indicates that there is a limited supply of them. The details also claim that a group of vouchers to come next will only be allocated if the retailers meet certain eligibility criteria. However, the company has not specified any date for the availability of the vouchers after this. All of this may result in longer queues of interested Jio Phone buyers, at retail shops. With limited supply and less stock of Jio mobiles, the shops may not be able to meet the expected heavy demands. IE quoted a retailer as saying that people need to act quickly if they have not yet decided on the Jio Phone.

The brochure also provides details regarding the specifications of the Jio Phone. While most of the features are already known, the list also informs us about some more details. For example, the Jio device will feature 4GB of internal memory and can be expanded to 128GB using a microSD card. Also, the Jio mobile will have a 2MP camera and VGA selfie shooter.
The list provided in the brochure also includes 10 ways you can use the internet on the Jio Phone. The list includes, watching YouTube videos, get latest news updates, find jobs, Facebook, listen to music and more. Interestingly, WhatsApp, one of the most sought after apps, does not find a mention in the brochure.
For the uninitiated, Jio Phone pre booking starts from August 24 and the sale will begin in the first week of September.
The Jio mobile can be purchased for a price of Rs 1500, an amount which will be returned by the company after a period of 3 years. You will have to pay a sum of Rs 153 monthly, where you will get half a GB of 4G data. Additionally, there are weekly, and two-day plans priced at Rs 54 and Rs 24 respectively.
