One of the most successful smartphones of 2017, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 finally gets a successor. Tagged as the Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi may take a fresh appeal to the successful lineup. The smartphone by Xiaomi could launch soon in India soon but as of now, the phone has been spotted on China’s JD.com. JD.com is a listing for the smartphone that has appeared on OppoMart, a Chinese reseller. However, the listing shows some features that are still a speculation around Redmi Note 5 but would be appreciated by every mobile phone enthusiasts. As per the listing, Redmi Note 5 is likely to have a 5.99-inch screen with near bezel-less display. The screen will also have a full HD+ resolution with an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The resolution is said to be clocked at 2160×1080 on the next Redmi Note 5’s display.
The listing claims that the phone will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which was seen in the previous generation phone. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 is an octa-core one clocked at 2.0GHz, which is more than enough to carry out multiple tasks at once. But that seems unlikely as Xiaomi has built its reputation to update its processor on the Redmi Note series phones with each year.
The camera is said to be a 12MP shooter with a 5MP front camera. But sadly, the listing does not confirm that the presence of a dual rear camera set up. The battery on Redmi phones has been one of the best features of the phone and with Note 5 is going to be no exception. The battery is rumored to be at 4000 mAh, according to the leak. The new set up will have Android Nougat with MIUI9 on top. But what gets disappointing is the number of options offered by the company, as of now, there will be a 3GB and 4GB RAM variant with 32GB and 64GB storage options. And it is the same as seen on the Redmi Note 4. The Redmi Note 4 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage was launched at Rs 12,999.
Following the renders leaked everywhere on the internet, the OppoMart has followed the trend and has shared an image of Redmi Note 5. But the air will be cleared around the launch of the Redmi Note 5 later. However, for India fans, Xiaomi’s concern is when to launch the Redmi Note 5 in the market. Xiaomi India’s head Manu Kumar Jain tweeted, ““i” is coming soon! Any guesses what is this? @XiaomiIndia.”
