Last 18 months have been very interesting for the telecom industry in India. Ever since Reliance Jio made its entry into the Indian market, a fierce data war has been going. After Jio, Airtel and BSNL, now even Idea Cellular has joined this battle. On Idea Cellular website, the telco has announced a new offer under which it will provide 1.5 GB data every day. Idea has announced a new plan priced at Rs 696, which offers the users 1.5 GB of data per day.
Apart from this, the website also stated that this Rs 696 plan will provide unlimited local/STD calls (including national roaming). Not just this, the users will also get extra talk time if they recharge their phone online. The company is offering 10 per cent of MRP as talk-time if the recharge is done through Idea Cellular’s app, called My Idea App, and website – ideacellular.com. This pack comes with a validity of 84 days and will be available for the customers using 4G-enabled smartphones.
Here are the details of the plan:
Idea has announced this plan only days after Reliance Jio introduced two new plans for Rs 349 and Rs 399 respectively. Under the Rs 349 plan, Jio is offering 1 GB of 4G speed data per day for 84 days while the customers get 20 GB data for 56 days under the Rs 399 plan. Both the plans offer unlimited local and STD calls.
Apart from this, Airtel too has come up with a pack priced at Rs 399 for its customers under which it is offering unlimited local and STD calls along with 1 GB data per day for 84 days at 4G speed.
To counter these plans, BSNL introduced a Rs 429 plan in which it is offering 1 GB data and unlimited voice calling for 90 days. “This Voice & Data Centric Plan is available for Rs. 429/ ie Rs. 143/ per month which gives unlimited voice (Local/STD) on any net and 90 GB data ( @ 1 GB per day) for 90 days, which is the most competitive plan in present market scenario,” said R.K.Mittal, Director (CM) BSNL, in a press statement, according to The Indian Express.
