HTC is reportedly set to launch a new smartphone on Monday, January 15. The company shared a teaser on China’s Weibo asking users to ‘Save The Date’ for the launch of the smartphone. While the teaser posted by the company does not reveal the name of the smartphone, Evan Blass has tipped that it will be called HTC U11 EYEs, previously dubbed as HTC Harmony. Moreover, he also shared the images, price, and specifications of the smartphone.
According to Blass, the HTC U11 EYEs will be launched by the company next week on Monday, January 15 – something that the teaser posted by HTC affirms. The HTC U11 EYEs is expected to sport a 6-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) Super LCD3 display. It will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card.
The HTC U11 EYEs is also expected to come with IP67 water and dust resistance rating. According to the images shared by him, the HTC U11 EYEs will come with a dual camera setup on the front, however, the camera capacity is not known yet. On the other hand, the rear side of the smartphone will have a single camera along with an LED flash module. Below the camera will be the fingerprint sensor.
Furthermore, the HTC U11 EYEs will run on Android Nougat, which is surprising as HTC has already rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for recent smartphones such as HTC 10, HTC U11, and HTC U11 Life. The HTC U11 EYEs will also feature Edge Sense, that lets you squeeze the sides of the device to trigger different actions. As for the colours, the smartphone will come in three models – Black, Silver, and Red. The price of the smartphone is expected to be 3,299 yuan (approximately Rs. 32,500). According to some reports, the smartphone will be first launched in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
