HP revamps laptop series; introduces thinner bodies, bigger batteries

Tech giant HP on Thursday announced the availability of the Envy 13 and the Spectre x360 laptops with 7th-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors.

Tech giant HP on Thursday announced the availability of the Envy 13 and the Spectre x360 laptops with 7th-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. The 27-inch envy all-in-one PC has also been made available with newly designed speakers and a thinner display. The Spectre x360 convertible laptop is now available for sales with a micro-bezel design, which sees the removal of the large bezels for the last edition. The display still gets to be a 13.3-inch screen with the touch feature but the screen resolution has been changed to 1080p full HD. It is also thinner by nearly 3 mm at 13.7 mm from its original edition that had 16 mm. It now weighs 2.85 pounds in comparison to the heavier version of 3.17 pounds.

The Spectre x360 comes sports two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt support. The laptop also has a new webcam that has a 12% wider field view coupled with an infrared sensor for the Windows Hello. The convertible laptop has up to 16Gb of Ram and 1TB of SSD storage. One of the most welcomed updates is that of a bigger battery that can work up to 15 hours on a single charge, which can be completely done within 2 hours. The Spectre x360 is to be available for sale at a starting price of $1,159.

The new HP Envy 13, is more affordable than the Spectre at $849. It has a configurable RAM of up to 16GB and a storage of 1TB. Hp claims that the battery of the new model to last up to 14 hours, making it 28% better than its predecessor. The users, though, get to choose the resolution while buying the Envy 13; full HD 1080 or quad HD 1440p. It too comes with a quad HD IPS touchscreen. HP said that it would release the 4K version later.
