Chinese companies have engineered an amazing new technology to remove garbage hanging on power lines, where they burn them using flame throwing drones. People have been reporting sights of such drones throwing flames around power wires. Meanwhile, apart from the obvious adrenaline rush that his sends in the viewer, one must realise this is a great innovation. What can humans do when garbage is seen hanging from such high tension wires, where humans cannot reach? You invent a drone which can spew fire and burn the trash away. Simple. Done and dusted. According to a local radio station, the Voice of Xiangyang, setting up, lighting up the flamethrower, and burning the garbage takes only 15 minutes. Meanwhile, QQ.com said that the temperature of the flames can reach up to 400 degrees Celsius too.

A single view of the video footage of the fire-spewing drones looks straight out of a Hollywood movie, giving you goose bumps and making you apprehensive that the robot uprising is finally here. An electric power maintenance firm in China has been using the drones to remove plastic bags and other such trash which get caught in high voltage wires and in places where it is almost impossible for humans to reach. Meanwhile, if you are worried that the drones can be used by bad people for bad reasons, you have been living under a rock. They are already being used by the military for targeted strikes in the middle eastern countries. According to reports, even terrorists have taken to the drone technology.

Interestingly, fire being thrown at high-voltage wires is not something we expect every day nor does it rub us the right way, the reason being common sense. But, perhaps, the dangers of spewing fire at the wires to burn garbage is less dangerous than a human reaching there. There are not a lot of details provided in the video that has surfaced showcasing the drone. The man controlling the drone does not have much of a protective gear nor does he look tensed about it. Maybe this is just a testing feature, but it remains to be seen how countries and people will be using such a technology.
