One day to go for the launch of the brand new Pixel smartphone ‘Made by Google’, and images have been leaked by a number of websites. Except for the price and date of availability, every other specification of the Pixel smartphone has been leaked on the website called, Carphone warehouse. But it must be kept in mind that the these are just leaks and there has been no confirmation from Google regarding the specifications. Yet, one can make assumptions as to what to expect from the launch event scheduled on October 4. Car Warehouse shows features introduced by the tech giant’s cloud-based services, which includes its AI-powered Assistant for conversational search, Allo for messaging, Duo for FaceTime-style video calls. Most notably, the smartphone will have unlimited photo storage.
In a new development, users will be able to customise their phones with ‘Cases by Google’ in the same way Google had that option with its Nexus phones. In April this year, the ‘Live cases’ were unveiled by Google for Nexus 5x, 6 and 6P. As far as specifications are concerned, there is nothing very surprising and new, since a lot of the information has already been rumoured and speculated. That does not mean Google has nothing new to offer with its solid new smartphone. Pixel smartphone will be powered by the latest 2.15 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, 1080p or quad HD displays. The rear cameras will be 12 megapixels and the front click will be of 8 megapixels. Add to it the new technology of fingerprint scanners and bigger batteries.
Google will offer its latest Android Nougat 7.1 operating system and it will come before it comes for any other smartphone. According to the listed specifications, the Pixel smartphone will have 552 hours of standby time and 32 hours of talk time, because of its bigger battery. The Pixel XL battery will be bigger at 3,450mAh while that of Pixel will be 2,770mAh. When it comes to storage, the smartphone will come in 32GB and 128GB variants, with the option of expanding it to 256GB with an SD card. The phone seems to be a light weight at 143 gms, with dimensions of 143.8 x 69.5 x 8.6 mm.
As of now, the smartphone seems to be coming in two colour variants, yet we should reserve our judgements for tomorrow’s event. There has been no mention of pricing in this leak, yet according to earlier reports, the Pixel smartphone prices can go up to $649, which is a huge amount given the fact that there are no major discerning features which other flagship phones by major brands don’t have.
