An e-commerce website OnlyMobiles has listed the new BlackBerry KeyOne with a price tag of Rs 39,990.

At the Mobile World Congress 2017, held in Spain, BlackBerry was the first company to announce its smartphone. BlackBerry had announced the all new KeyOne device. The company had not unveiled many plans about the release of the smartphone, expect the fact that the device will come to some markets in April 2017. However, BlackBerry had not unveiled any date on when the KeyOne will come to India. But apparently, it is already coming here.

An e-commerce website OnlyMobiles has listed the new BlackBerry KeyOne with a price tag of Rs 39,990. The smartphone also has an option of EMI option. The website says that BlackBerry will give the buyers one-year warranty on the KeyOne smartphone. Notably, the price that is given is very close to the global price announced by Blackberry, that is $549 (around 36,695). The website says that phone will be available in India, priced at Rs 39,999. However, BlackBerry has not made any official announcement regarding the India launch of KeyOne smartphone. There were some reports which said that the smartphone by BlackBerry may not come to the country as well.

At the Mobile World Congress, BlackBerry has unveiled the all new KeyOne smartphone. BlackBerry has always been known for its security features and physical keyboards, and that is what the company is bringing back. The KeyOne is manufactured by BlackBerry in partnership with TCL. The device will reportedly be available all over the world from April and will come at a price of $549 (around Rs 36,500 in India). BlackBerry’s earlier Android smartphone called Price had a sliding physical keyboard by the one on KeyOne is without a slider.

In the KeyOne smartphone by BlackBerry, the keyboard has the capacitive touch like the one found on the Passport smartphone. You will be able to customise each and every key on the keyboard to use them as shortcuts to various apps. Interestingly, there is a fingerprint scanner on the ‘space bar’ of the keyboard. Users will also be able to swap between different screens while moving their fingers across the keyboard. between the screen and the keyboard, are the three keys found at the bottom of Android smartphones?

In terms of specifications, BlackBerry KeyOne has a 12 MP Sony IMX 378 camera at the back. The BlackBerry Priv had an 18 MP camera. The front shooter her is of 8 MP. This phone is very similar to the BlackBerry Passport. It has a metal frame with a texture at the back for better handling. The phone has a 4.5-inch display screen with a 1620 x 1080 resolution. The KeyOne device is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage and microSD support ( up to 2TB).

In terms of battery, BlackBerry, at the event, said the KeyOne smartphone features the largest battery ever to come in a BlackBerry-branded phone. The phone is fueled by power from a 3,505mAh battery which could last one day on a single charge. The device also supports Quick Charge 3.0. BlackBerry claims you can get to 50 percent charge in 36 minutes.

KeyOne smartphone offers a USB-Type C port down below, while a 3.5mm port is found on the top of the device. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, but users will find some BlackBerry Apps preloaded on the phone including BlackBerry Keyboard, BlackBerry Hub and DTEK by BlackBerry. Google’s latest update to Android brings a number of new features, including multi-window support and better notifications.

The manufacturer has also added many security features and that makes it better than other smartphones in that segment. This will be the last phone by BlackBerry as TCL will be manufacturing the phones by the brand name. The first Android-powered devices by TCL, DTEK50 and DTEK60, were rebranded as Alcatel smartphones had released in late 2016.

Meanwhile, once a market leader BlackBerry now virtually has a zero percent share. According to the market research firm Gartner, out of more than 431.5 million smartphones sold last year, about 200,000 were BlackBerry devices that were running on its own operating system but that gives it less than half the unit volume of the ‘other OS’ category.
