Apple is about to launch its next smartphone, probably called the iPhone 8. Apple usually hosts the iPhone launch event in September and since August is already about to end, the anticipation keeps growing. If rumours and leaks are to be believed, Apple could launch the iPhone 8 as well as two other variants of the iPhone 7- iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. Reports have said that the company may conduct the event either in the first week of September or on September 12. This year’s Apple device will be the 10th-anniversary edition of the legendary iPhone, which was first launched by Steve Jobs in 2007. The iPhone of 2017 is expected to pack many innovative features in itself. Meanwhile, rumour mills have been working on the device for a long time. However, the latest reports have brought some different news.

According to a new report on popular Chinese microblogging website Weibo, the iPhone 8 will have the same 3GB of RAM which was found in the iPhone 7 Plus. However, this time Apple may pack an internal memory of a whopping 512GB in the premium variant of iPhone 8. While the minimum storage option will be 64GB, the report adds, there will be a 256GB iPhone too. Famous tipster Geekbar informed about the details in the post on Weibo. While there were plenty of reports on the internet regarding the other versions, the 512GB iPhone is a fresh news. Even Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities, said that the device will have the 64GB and 512GB version. However, these are just leaks, so there is no confirmation on whether the Cupertino giant will actually come up with a device, with such a huge memory. Interestingly, if this happens, the other change will be the double storage capacity on the lower end. Earlier the smaller memory version of iPhone was the 32GB model.

Meanwhile, the report said that Apple has got the NAND storage from different suppliers. While Toshiba and SanDisk provided the 64GB and 256GB, Samsung and Hynix gave the 512GB chip.

This is a big change since the 4K video recording on the iPhone is getting really popular. Also, APple may bring along more options in its 3D sensing and augmented reality features.

Coming to the Apple iPhone 8 launch date, a report in Mac4Ever said that the event will be hosted on September 12. The report says that preorders for the iPhone will start on September 15 and will start shipping from September 22. However, Apple has not given any official confirmation, nor has it commented on the same.

Notably, the APple iPhone is expected to pack an OLED bezel-less display panel and a vertical dual camera. It may also bring more innovative features like the wireless charging and facial recognition.
