This is perhaps the first time when Twitter is itself enthusiastic for any event and making changes by sue moto cognisance. This could also be a part of the strategy to motivate people to use this hashtag in order to attract huge traffic on the microblogging site.
However, it is still unknown whether Twitter is using this hashtag as the part of a properly planned business strategy. The company might also be charging Apple for the promotion of this mega event. This might also be considered as Twitter’s gift to Apple after the tech giant seemed suddenly active on their official Twitter account. Apple had seemingly forgotten to use the account as it laid in a dormant state for years. Apple, in the last few years, did not have the need to advertise its product on any social networking site, considering it’s customised and dedicated fan base. But the loss of sales in the last financial year seems to have pushed the company in this direction.
